Kapilvastu Integrated Development Services- Project (KIDS) is a Non – Government Organization ( NGO) established in Kapilvastu District (Registration Number: 407/ 2005) on 31st August, 2005 and is affiliated with Social Welfare Council ( Affiliation Number : 21942/ 2007) on 20 March, 2007. KIDS was established by the local community people with the purpose of providing services to local communities with the vision of “Healthy, inclusive and prosperous society with full of peace and equal justice.” KIDS has general assembly, represented by poor, vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalized communities, including Dalit, Janajati, Madhesi, Muslims, Women, Adolescents, PLHA (People living with HIV/AIDS).
The Executive Committee is also very inclusive by its mandatory provision and hence, consists of representation from diversified groups of society, including socially excluded groups in line with Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) strategy. Currently led by a Muslim Madhesi woman, KIDS continues to reflect its core values in leadership, with two key positions within the Executive Committee held by women from disadvantaged and marginalized backgrounds.
Over the years, KIDS has worked tirelessly to uplift underserved populations by promoting sustainable development, access to essential services, social justice, and community empowerment.
The organization has experience on successfully program implementation provincial level as well as district/ Municipal level in various sectors i.e., Health (SRHR, Family Planning, Adolescents and Youth health, Malaria, TB, HIV&AIDS), Nutrition, Water & Sanitation, Food Security, Poverty alleviation, Education, Climate Change and Women empowerment, including Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) in all sectors as a key cross-cutting theme. KIDS has working experience with different provincial/ districts and local level authorities and currently implementing programs in 15 Districts. i.e., Lumbini Province (Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi -West, Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Palpa, Pyuthan, Arghakhanchi, Rolpa, Rukum east) Karnali Province (Dailekh, Kalikot, Salyan and Surkhet) and Gandaki Province (Kaski, Tanhau and Nawalpur) in past.
